Be Strong International Hosts Stronger Together LuncheonAmeriHealth Caritas Florida Recognized with Community Partner Award

Miami, FL – Be Strong International hosted its first quarterly Stronger Together luncheon at Bean Automotive in West Kendall. More than 70 diverse members of the community from different chambers, banks, school representatives, various firms and agencies as well as other non-profits gathered to network, connect, and learn about the work Be Strong International has been doing for the past 30 years and what is coming up in the near future.

During this event, Be Strong International awarded AmeriHealth Caritas Florida the ‘Community Partner Award’. AmeriHealth Caritas Florida, a Medicaid managed care plan serving seven Florida counties, is highly involved in the community and giving back to those in need. From volunteering in Be Strong International’s monthly food drives to their generous donations to the organization, it’s clear AmeriHealth Caritas Florida rightfully deserved this award.

“It is an honor and a privilege to accept this award and to collaborate with such an impactful organization as Be Strong International,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Florida Interim Market President Melody Bonomo. “In working together, we are advancing both organizations’ efforts to build stronger and healthier communities.”

The event started with a meaningful and dynamic ice breaker playing Social Yaks, the new innovative card game created by Be Strong International, which prompted guests to connect and get to know more about each other. The master of ceremonies of the event was Lisa Greer, First Vice-President / Commercial Lender for SouthState Bank and President of the Board for Be Strong International. Miream Sierra, the Senior Program Executive for Be Strong International presented guests with the different programs the organization has to offer. Davon Johnson, Program Manager Youth Division, gave an emotional testimonial about his experience working with the youth first-hand.

“It’s important for us to host these events where we bring together community leaders from different industries into a shared place where the point of conversation is how we can be of service to our communities,” said Michelle Shirley, CEO & Chief Heart Officer of Be Strong International.

The sponsors for the event included Bean Automotive who provided the beautiful venue and Applebees, who provided a delicious pasta meal for guests to enjoy while they networked and shared common points of interest.
