From culinary arts to theater, our students learn, create, and connect in meaningful ways—building confidence, exploring their talents, and forming friendships that last. One special culinary class invited students to design a theme, decorate creative cookies, and even build their own cookie houses. Moments like these remind us how powerful creativity and community can be in helping children grow.
The Be Strong International team celebrated the end of the year with a festive holiday lunch, sharing laughs, great food, and fun surprises during a White Elephant gift exchange. A joyful moment to connect, celebrate our team, and close out the year together.
Our Be Strong International running team brought incredible energy to the Give Miami 5K—running, walking, and cheering with purpose. Every step was for our children and the safe, supportive spaces they deserve after school.
There’s something extra special about giving back during the holidays, and our December Food Drive was a beautiful reminder of that. With the support of our dedicated volunteers, our Be Strong team, and our CEO and Chief Heart Officer®, Michelle Shirley, we came together to pack food, share kindness, and uplift families who needed a little extra joy this season. Thanks to every helping hand, hundreds of families entered the holidays with warmth, nourishment, and hope.
Our Strong on the Block team spent the day handing out gift cards for families to receive a turkey for their Thanksgiving meal, along with thoughtful souvenirs and essentials to help support them this season.
Be Strong International had the opportunity to host a powerful Social Yaks session at Miami Dade College’s Medical Campus, engaging members of the President’s Leadership Academy and staff from all MDC campuses. The conversation created a space for open dialogue, connection, and reflection on building stronger relationships within their college community and beyond. Attendees were enthusiastic and fully engaged, especially during the Social Yaks card game, which sparked meaningful conversations and plenty of laughter.
There were cars lined up and families counting on their community to show up—and once again, the community delivered. ❤️ This month’s Food Drive-Thru served as a powerful reminder of how many people depend on this service to help feed their loved ones. Thanks to the continued support of our partners at Farm Share Florida, the dedicated volunteers from Dade County Federal Credit Union, and many kind-hearted individuals who came ready to serve, we filled trunks, hearts, and homes with care and compassion. 🚗

Game day excitement like never before! 
For many of our Be Strong after-school kids, this was their very first time at the Miami Dolphins stadium! Thanks to Football Unites, they got to experience the magic of game day, cheer alongside fans, and feel the incredible energy of the crowd. Huge shoutout to the Dolphins and Football Unites for creating a memory these kids will treasure forever.
Exciting times at both MDC Kendall and Homestead Campuses. Our Social Yaks sessions brought together SAS students who connected through engaging discussions, meaningful exchanges, and lots of laughs. The team at Miami Dade College Homestead Campus dived deep into conversations, bonding and building community along the way.
Be Strong International coordinated a successful backpack packing event with many volunteers, who selflessly donated their time to put together bookbags full of quality school supplies. This once-in-a-year event was arranged to directly benefit youth and families who might not have the financial liberty to buy new school supplies for the upcoming school year. The energy in the room was inspiring as everyone gathered for a great cause, selflessly dedicating their time to help kids and teenagers start the new school year strong.

From capturing magical moments through lenses to whipping up culinary delights, dazzling dances and beautiful songs, our students showcased their incredible talents to parents and guests who proudly witnessed their creativity and passion in action at our annual Art Basel Event throughout the 4 different locations we serve around Miami-Dade and Broward!
