Be Strong At The Table Documentary Premiere

Be Strong At The Table (BSATT) is an unique experience designed to increase empathy and encourage purposeful dialogue among community members despite their differences. A mix of Miami residents including, police officers, community leaders and families, from different races, cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds came together to share, laugh and address social issues, all while dining together! These sessions were recorded to create a documentary and share it with the community. Join us for this premiere event to witness how we can learn together how to build a community without prejudice, disrespect, division, discrimination, or racism.

WHO WE ARE:

A Team That Loves To Integrate

BSATT is a unique relationship-building experience offered through a roundtable dining activity. This project is intently focused on increasing empathy and encouraging purposeful dialogue among community members in spite of their differences. The dinner participants include a mix of local families, youth and community leaders from different racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds to address the issue of social injustice, all while dining together

Registration for the program has ended for now, but continue to look for updates to learn more about our “Flavored Talks”!

WHAT WE DO:

Expand Understanding

An interactive experience focusing on the building blocks of healthy dialogue and compassionate empathy, course modules will provide tools to gain knowledge and skills that foster healthy communication with others despite personal differences. Course materials address how healthy dialogue plays a key role in developing and sustaining healthy relationships and provide insight on cognitive, emotional, and compassionate empathy.

This project will also include the creation of a groundbreaking tool kit to allow institutions and organizations across Miami Dade County to replicate BSATT. Additionally, we will premiere a documentary with insights of each community member’s process to increase awareness of the limitations that hinder meaningful progress towards equality and justice in our community.
